 Wild Card Weekend at the always tough Bridgeport (NJ) Speedway had a $4,000 prize on the line Friday for a 358 Modified win and $5,000 on the nose for a Saturday Big Block Modified score.

 With quality-laden fields on hand both nights. the prospect of of a two-race sweep was hard to even contemplate.

 But that’s exactly what happened.

 Rick Laubach, ‘The Quaker Shaker”, rode to victory both nights, using the high side to win Friday and power moves across the turns Saturday to take take the prize.

 The wins weren’t overwhelming in-your-face scores.  Rather the drives were artistic displays, of getting the most out of a car at the right time, and steering clear of potential trouble.

 Such a virtuoso performance over a weekend doesn’t happen often and may not be repeated any time soon.

 Laubach’s lasting impression will last throughout the winter, making big news.
