This Week In AARN // December 2nd, 2014

ENDING THE NORTHEAST OUTDOOR RACING SEASON, Eric Mauriello (above left, Photo by Steve Kennedy) took the biggest win of his young career when he triumphed in the Tour-Type Modified 150-lap feature during the 41st edition of the Turkey Derby at N.J.’s Wall Stadium Speedway; Mauriello drove Dick and Robert Barney’s legendary “Big Red” No. 14 (top, Kennedy Photo) to the victory. Here, he duels for the lead with Danny Bohn; Although there was a packed pit area (top center, Photo by Steve Sabo) and enthusiastic fans at Accord (N.Y.) Speedway for the Gobbler race, a midweek snowstorm ruined the track surface and forced the race to be postponed until next April; AARN staff member and Central Pa. 410 Sprint Car driver Davey Sammons was married to Jamie Berkenstock on Saturday (Photo by Bob Yurko). Like Davey, Jamie is from a racing family. Congratulations to a wonderful couple!
