Motorsports 2015 Schedule of Events

FRIDAY, JANUARY 23th – SHOW HOURS 2 TO 9 PM

1:00 PM – Box Office Opens at A-Hall Entrance only.

1:00 PM – PRE-SHOW EXHIBITS & INFORMATION: (A-Hall Entrance Only) – The public is invited to enter the D-Hall Stage Area starting one-hour before the rest of the show opens. You must have a ticket for the show which opens at 2 PM. This will allow you easy entrance to the show when it is officially opened.

2:00 PM – show opens to the public

2:15 – 9 PM – GO-KART RACEWAY OPENS: (C Hall Raceway) – Race your racing buddies on an oval track for bragging rights in fast electric go karts. It’s just $10 a race. Tickets are available at the speedway location. You must be at least 12 years old and over 54 inches in height to take the green flag.

5:30 – 7 PM – MOVIE PRESENTATION: “THE BIG WHEEL” (E Hall Stage) – A brash young Midget car race driver lives in the shadow of his famous father, a drunken womanizer, who was killed in an accident years earlier. This 1949 racing film stars: Mickey Rooney, Thomas Mitchell, Mary Hatcher, Michael O’Shea, Spring Byington. Even if you don’t like old movies, you owe it to yourself to see this film for its historical racing content. It’s an early day Days of Thunder! Run time: 92 minutes

6:30 – 7 PM – PIONEER POLE BUILDINGS CELEBRITY GO-KART RACE: (C Hall Raceway) – Check out top drivers from several different divisions racing head to head in electric go-karts in a celebrity race for bragging rights.

7:00 – 8:00 PM – AUTOGRAPHS – (Sunoco/ Insinger display – Booth No. 111): Ms. Motorsports 2015 CASSI PINDER will be available to sign autographs and pose for photos!

7:00 – 8:00 PM – SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS: MIDGET CAR RACING HISTORY! (E Hall Stage) Hear stories from great championship drivers and car owners and see rare footage and photos from the early days of racing when Midget Car Racing was born. The movie “The Big Wheel” will be discussed along with its impact on Midget Car racing.

SATURDAY, JANUARY 24th – SHOW HOURS 11 AM – 9 PM

12:30 PM – Q and A: Dr. DICK BERGGREN (E Hall Stage), national television broadcaster, writer and magazine publisher will be talking about his career as well as his part in the new book “A History of Auto Racing in New England” and the formation of a racing museum in New England.

1:00 to 2:00 PM – AUTOGRAPHS – (Pioneer Pole Buildings Display – 104): Philadelphia Eagles legendary running back BRIAN WESTBROOK

1:00 – 2:00 – AUTOGRAPHS/ PHOTOS: Ms. Motorsports 2015 contestants are welcome to sign autographs, pose for photos and mingle with fans. (Area Auto Racing News booth No. 224)

1:00 to 3:00 PM – AUTOGRAPHS – READING REUNION: DIZZY DEAN, BOBBY BRAXTON, RON KEHL, BRUCE YOUNG, WHITEY KERSHNER, RUSS SMITH, LEE BRYSON, TIM HIGGINS, DON ESKAY and BLANE SADLER.

1:00 – 2:30 PM – AUTOGRAPHS – (Racing For Jesus display): NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour 2014 winners Justin Bonsignore and Woody Pitkat will be signing autographs along with NC’s Bowman-Gray Stadium track champion DANNY BOHN!

1:00 – 1:15 PM – Q and A -(E Hall Stage): NASCAR Sprint Cup Series super star JOEY LOGANO!

1:00 – 2:00 PM – PHOTO OPT/ AUTOGRAPHS – KEN BRENN RACING REUNION featuring the team’s recently restored Indianapolis Car, one of the team’s Midgets and Modified! Meet KEN BRENN SR. and several of his drivers!

1:00 – 3:00 PM – AUTOGRAPHS/ BOOK SIGNING – (Coastal 181 Booth No. 816): Dr. DICK BERGGREN, national televsion broadcaster, writer and book publisher will be signing the new book “A History of Auto Racing in New England”.

2:00 – 4:00 PM – MIDGET RACING REUNION – (E-Hall Reunion Area – Booth No. 1804): Special Autograph session to include multi-time champions and rookie of the year winners including Leigh Earnshaw Jr., Bob Cicconi, Lenny Boyd, Hank Rogers Jr., Billy Hughes, Lou Cicconi Jr., Phil DiMario, Bryan Kobylarz, Ray Bull, Andy Martin, Steve Buckwalter, Drew Heistand, Tim Buckwalter, Trevor Kobylarz, Steven Drevicki, Jimmy Maguire, Frank Fiore Jr., Drew Fornoro, NOKI FORNORO, ED STIMELY, Jim Whitman, Ken Brenn Sr., Michele Miller and Mares Stellfox.

3:00 to 4:00 PM – AUTOGRAPHS – (New Egypt Speedway display Booth No. 404-504): Johnny Cornell, Chris Grbac, Phil Meisner, Ryan Simmons, Adam Cox, Brian Papiez, John Snook, Aaron Weaver, Jimmy Amato and Miss New Egypt Speedway!

3:30 – 5:00 PM – OPEN FORUM: RACE PROMOTION (E Hall Stage): Race driver KENNY WALLACE is also a race promoter. Kenny will discuss the issues a race promoter deals with while accepting questions from the paying race fans in the audience. This is an open discussion where both sides will have a chance to discuss their views of a night at the races. The program will end with an autograph session.

5:30 -6:30 PM – AUTOGRAPHS – (E Hall Stage): STEVE PARK and TOMMY BALDWIN JR. Park has won races in NASCAR’s two top Northeast touring series (Modified and K&N East) and all three national divisions (Camping World Truck, Nationwide, and Sprint Cup). A multi-car owner on the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, Baldwin won the 2002 Daytona as a crew chief with driver Ward Burton.

2:00 – 3:00 PM – MS. MOTORSPORTS AUTOGRAPH SESSION – (Area Auto Racing News booth No. 224): Several Ms. Motorsports winners will be signing autographs and posing for photos including Ms. Motorsports 1991- Midi Miller, 2005 – Ashley Diehl, 2007 – Chelsea Miller, 2009 – Alyssa Sharman, 2008 – Tiffany Skias, 2012 – Samantha La Gas, 2013 -Katie TODOROW, 2014 – Cassi Pinder.

4:00 – 5:00 PM – TOP NORTHEAST WINNERS AUTOGRAPH SESSION – (Area Auto Racing News booth No. 224): Top 2014 feature race winner KEITH ROCCO (asphalt Modified and Late Model) and other divisional top victors including MATT SHEPPARD (Big-Block Modified) and RICKY ELLIOTT (Dirt Late Model).

4:00 -5:00 PM – AUTOGRAPHS – (Flemington Speedway Historical Society display): – TBA

6:30 – 7:00 PM – STAGE PRESENTATION – (E- Hall Stage Area): KIRSTEN SOWERS will enterain with song.

7:00 PM – SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS – (E Hall Stage): Prior to the 2015 Ms. Motorsports competition, several former winners will come to the stage for a reunion and photo presenation! Expected to be on hand are Ms. Motorsports 1991- Midi Miller, 2005 – Ashley Diehl, 2007 – Chelsea Miller, 2009 – Alyssa Sharman, 2008 – Tiffany Skias, 2012 – Samantha LaGas, 2013 -Katie Todorow, 2014 – Cassi Pinder.

7:30 PM – SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS – (E Hall Stage): Several important announcements will be made and awards presented. Among those in the spotlight on stage at this time will be the 2014 Northeast Top Feature Winners, as determined by Area Auto Racing News.

8:00 PM – MS. MOTORSPORTS COMPETITION sponsored by Oliver Construction – (D Hall Stage): Finals of the Ms. Motorsports competition!

SUNDAY, JANUARY 25th – SHOW HOURS 11 AM – 4 PM

FAMILY DAY AT THE SHOW presented by Metal Fab
CHILDREN UNDER 12 FREE

10:15 AM – VICTORY LANE CHAPEL – The Racer’s Church, presented by Racing with Jesus Ministries (D-Hall Stage)

12:00 PM – STAGE PRESENTATION – (E- Hall Stage Area): KIRSTEN SOWERS will enterain with song and Bridgeport Speedway mascot The Bandit and New Egypt’s Ralphie will be on hand greeting the youngsters. There will be face painting and  balloon art for the youngsters as well.

12:30 to 2:00 PM – LITTLE MISS MOTORSPORTS – (E- Hall Stage Area) – Girls in two age groups (“Tiny” 4-7 and “Little Miss” 8 -11) will compete for two crowns! There is no entry fee.

2:00 PM – KIDS BIG WHEEL RACES sponsored by RAACE Foundation (E- Hall Stage Area) – Children in three age groups (3-4, 5-6, 7-9) race for prizes and large trophies! Big Wheels are supplied (no one can use their own); and there is no entry fee, or need to pre-enter. Just sign up at the show before 12 Noon on Sunday.
