A southwestern ASCS 360 Sprint Car driver, a proverbial big fish in a little pond, rocketed to the top of the collective national Sprint Car awareness by winning the climactic 410 Sprint Car race of Winter Heat in Copopah, Ariz. Saturday.
The big guns were all there – Steve Kinser, Christopher Bell, Danny Lasoski, Dale Blaney. But in the end, Aaron Reutzel was the man of the hour.
Reutzel first became known regionally on the ASCS National Tour in 2011 and continued to excel over the last several years.
Earlier in this Winter Heat five-race series, Reutzel nearly won a 410 A-Main. Armed with a front row starting spot in the finale, Reutzel simply sprinted away from the field and checked out.
In so doing, Reutzel became Sprint Car racing’s newest hero.
Aaron Reutzel turned heads at Winter Heat – and made big news!
