This Week in AARN // February 3rd, 2015

AFTER AN INTENSE EVENT, the prestigious Gambler’s Classic trophy for TQ-Midgets at Atlantic City’s Boardwalk Hall was presented to New York’s Erick Rudolph (center left, MoJo Photo); Racing in close quarters (top, Steve Kennedy Photo), Rudolph (No. 22) challenges Patrick Emerling (No. 07), Andy Jankowiak (No. 49) and Zane Zeiner (outside); It’s “wheel-to-wheel” action (center right, Kennedy Photo) between Jankowiak and Emerling! The Slingshot division feature came down to a thrilling last lap race for the lead (above left, Rick Sweeten Photo) between Gary Hieber Jr. (No. 56), who had come from the rear of the field after a first lap spin, and Demetrios Drellos (No. 71); They tangled on the white flag lap in turn three (above, Kennedy Photo), with Hieber flipping and Drellos getting DQ’d for rough-riding. The win went to Jay Hartman, after a last lap dash!
