 Makers Of News aren’t necessarily persons and the events that make news aren’t always reflective of happy times.

 As the cold, stark, sobering reality sinks in that after this coming Columbus Day Weekend tbere will be no more racing at the New York State Fairgrounds, anger, bitterness, disbelief and emptiness will, in good time, give way to reflectiveness, and savoring of memories of races run, of parties (some which are best unremembered) and of priceless friendships.

 Syracuse, The Race has always been Newsmaker.  This week, it is Syracuse, The Place that has made news – by its impending demise.
