The 44th running of Super DIRT Week is at hand.

This year, as Area Auto Racing News rolls out its annual Super DIRT Week issue, at 116 pages, it does so for a SDW that is in fundamental transition.

It will be the last at the New York State Fairgrounds. That’s the bad news.

The good news is that a new track is proposed, one to be owned by Glenn Donnelly, the original founder of DIRT and SDW.

The as yet unbuilt Central New York Raceway Park, if all goes well, will host Super DIRT Week 2016.  The convergence of these twin news bombshells is profound enough to eclipse the actual racing this weekend…
