ON A DAY OF SPECIAL MEMORIES, the covered grandstand at the New York State Fairgrounds (above, Photo by Mel Stettler) was packed with fans who gathered to watch the last race ever on the legendary Syracuse Mile; As the event headed toward its emotional, final laps (top left, Photo by Harry Cella), it was Stewart Friesen (No. 44) who set the pace. Here, he duels with former winner Kenny Tremont, who finished second on Sunday; Ultimately it was Friesen who celebrated (top right, Stettler Photo) in victory lane after his fourth Super DIRT Week Modified triumph in six years!
