AREA AUTO RACING NEWS NEWSMAKER OF THE WEEK FOR OCTOBER 20th, 2015 Edition

 Doug Coby closed out the 2015 NASCAR Whelen Modified Touring Series season in much the same way as he started it, with a convincing win at Thompson (CT) Motorsports Park.

 In so doing, he ended with seven wins in  the 15 race Series,  swept all four of the Thompson events, and dominated in the last three events, on his way to his third NWMT championship and second in a row.

 This was a year of competitiveness and aggressive driving with hard feelings and frayed nerves.  When mental toughness was most in demand, Coby had nerves of steel.

 The NASCAR Whelen Modified Touring Series champioinship is difficult to winonce.  Coby now has three. With his late season dominance, Coby made headlines.

 The culmination of his efforts earn him AARN Newsmaker Of The Week accolades.
