Newsmaker of the Week // “Wait Till Next Year”

AREA AUTO RACING NEWS NEWSMAKER OF THE WEEK FOR THE WEEK OF TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 17, 2015

 It was the end of the line for the New Jersey Dirt Modified and the Central Pennsyvania Sprint Car circuits this past weekend, bringing to a close nine months of continuous racing.

 Just as the first races of a new year are newsmaking events, so too are the finales.

 At Bridgeport (NJ) Speedway, Ryan Watt swept to victory in the Big Block Modified closer in a thrillling drive.

 At the same time, a hundred miles west, at Susquehanna (PA) Speedway Park,  Danny Dietrich was wrapping up an outstanding year for him and for Sprint Car racing in general with a big win.

 Ryan Watt’s and Danny Dietrich’s wins, while laudable, make news because there’s no “wait ‘til next week’ refrain from rivals.

Instead, it’s’wait ‘til next year’.
