Except for folks who have been recent attendees at Glen Ridge (NY) Motorsports Park, the name Peter Demitraszek may be wholly unfamiliar.
That’t about to change.
Against some heavy hitters an against some long odds, Demitraszek emerged as the man chosen by the Fonda (NY) Speedway Fair Board to run their historic half mile speedway in 2016.
Pete Demitraszek is taking a big gamble, betting that he can not just right the ship at Fonda but unify the bickering that has gone on among Glen Ridge, Fonda and other tracks, to the detriment of all.
The Fonda Fair Board is taking a big game too, in going all in with a man who is plain spoken, earnest, yet whose proven track record is limited to a track that has run on several different nights, with and without DIRTcar sanction – all of this within the past four years.
Demitraszek’s rise to leadership at Fonda is a newsmaking event with the potential to shift the balance of power in the region yet again.
