AREA AUTO RACING NEWS NEWSMAKER OF THE WEEK FOR JANUARY 5, 2016

Auto racing returned to Pennsylvania’s Lehigh Valley this past Saturday for the first time since Nazareth Speedway closed its gates in 2004.

Len Sammons Motorsports Productions brought racing back to Center City Allentown, Pa., in the PPL Center and boy, what a reception the race got.  It was a standing room only sellout crowd that turned out to see Erick Rudolph and Eddie Reeder win the TQ Midger and Sllingshot feature thrillers.

While the drivers cashed the checks, the real winners were the fans of racing in the Lehigh Valley, who were treated to a spectacular night of speed. The drivers may have been stars but the real Newsmaker this night was the region itself – reaffirming the Lehigh Valley as a hotbed of motorsports.
