Newsmaker of the Week // Florida Speedweeks

It’s an annual happening, Speedweek in Central Florida.
What was once Daytona Speedway-focused has blossomed into Series racing at dirt and paved tracks, involving Late Models, 410, 360 and wingless Sprints, Modifieds, Street Stocks and Mod Lites.
It’s grueling, with some Dirt Late Model teams running as many as sixteen races in a month and some speedways hosting a dozen straight events
This year, almost every scheduled event ran off as planned. Wheel to wheel action, late race lead changes and photo finishes, witnessed by big crowds all week made these days ones to remember.
No one track had a monopoly on compelling story lines. This was good old fashioned racing every night at five different tracks.
