This Week In AARN // April 5th, 2016

IN A “BRIGHT NIGHT” at the ARDC Midget opener (top, Dennis Takacs Photo) at Pa.’s Clyde Martin Memorial Speedway, winner Alex Bright (No. 77) dueled with his brother Brenden (No. 92) and Danny Stratton (No. 33); Brett Hearn (standing at right in center left photo, by Harry Cella), the original winner of the Hard Clay Open at N.Y.’s Orange County, was joined by his son Tyler (center) and runner-up Tommy Meier (left) in victory lane. But Hearn was later DQ’d for refusing tech, with Meier awarded the win; Meier (center right, No. 3, Bob Armbruster Photo) had raced Danny Johnson (No. 27J) for second place in what turned out to be a battle for top honors; Craig Von Dohren (No. 1c, Chris Budihas Photo) won the Grandview, Pa., Modified opener with Duane Howard (No. 66) taking second; Sprint Car driver Dave Guss Jr. (No. 72) went over the fence (above, Barry Lenhart Photo) at Pa.’s Port Royal after this tangle with Jim Kennedy.
