Fans of 410 Sprint racing who took in the All Star Circuit Of Champions races at Grandview (PA) Speedway and Lebanon Valley (NY) Speedway saw the first and only races in the Northeast that Steve Kinser is likely to drive in this season and likely the last two races of his career.
The Sprint Car Legend, in a class by himself, has run very few races anywhere in 2016. ‘The King’ is nearing the end of his reign.
There were strong hints tonight at Lebanon Valley Speedway that this could have been his last start.
There will never be another Steve Kinser. He has made news hundreds of times with his major race victories and season championships. And he will make news when he finally, officially hangs up his helmet.
This past week, at Grandview and Lebanon Valley, he made news again, simply by keeping his legacy going, allowing fans to be in the presence of greatness yet again.
If Lebanon Valley was it, he finished a creditable sixth in his last race.
Steve Kinser, simply stated Sprint Car racing’s Newsmaker for this week – and for the ages.
