Any top sports figure distinguishes themselves from the rest every time they face down adversity and bounce back from it.
Matt Sheppard did just that last week. He won the rich Mr. DIRT Lebanon Valley race, the Canandaigua and Utica-Rome features and both track’s championships over the span of four days.
Remarkable, newsworthy in its own right, of course.
But Sheppard did all of this just one Saturday night removed from a car-destroying wreck at one of his best tracks, Canandaigua.
As a first year owner-driver, he could have felt a heavy hit from the wreck. Instead, Sheppard built a new car and hasn’t stopped winning since.
Sheppard. the driver had done this before. Sheppard the owner-driver had not. The way he came back is the way of a Newsmaker!
