Just when one thought that Stewart Friesen was out of ways to win high profile races, he came through yet again Sunday at Orange County Fair Speedway, winning the Eastern States 200 and $35,000.
On the heels of winning the Super DIRT Week biggie two weeks ago in upstate Oswego, N.Y., this time it was Middletown that Friesen conquered with a thrilling last lap pass of Brett Hearn, the track’s biggest winner of all time.
And he did it after pitting with 17 laps to go with a flat tire.
The crowd reaction was deafening. The post-race trackside scene one of pure joy, Car owner Chris Larsen was there to join in the fun.
This was one for the ages as Stewart Friesen made news as only he can. AARN’s Newsmaker Of The Week did it again!
