With the most trying year of his racing career behind him, Ryan Preece got back to basics Sunday afternoon when he drove his potent Modified by archrival Doug Coby and on to victory in Stafford Motor Speedway’s Spring Sizzler.
This is a big race, arguably the most prestigious in New England and one of the jewels of the NASCAR Whelen Modified Touring Series.
It was Preece’s first Sizzler win and his first on the Mod Tour since leaving to run with the NASCAR Xfinity Series in 2016.
Preece, no stranger to winning, admitted that this one was emotional. It was a Newsmaking victory.
