Bobby Varin is one of racing’s most reliable veterans. He may not be the biggest winner of all time, but whenever he takes a green flag, he’s a threat.
Varin’s son Danny is cut from the same cloth, but unlike his father, has been dividing his time between Modifieds and 360 Sprints for the past several years.
The Varin family talents swept over Fonda Speedway this past weekend in a dramatic show of dominance.
On the first night of a two day card, Bobby Varin won the King Of Dirt 358 Modified main. It was a mere prelude to a Saturday to remember for the Varins.
It was in the Super DIRT Series 100 that the biggest News was made. Bobby won, Danny was second. Bobby won with tire strategy, Danny blew a tire and charged back through.
But it was in the 360 Sprint race to follow that made the news. Danny won after overhauling his father for the lead. Bobby ended up a close third.
Three races, three wins, a second and a third. That’s a Newsmaking run of success for the Varin family!
