The 2023 PPB Motorsports Show last weekend in Oaks, PA was the scene for the stunning announcement by Ricky Grosso that he has gained control of the operation of New Egypt Speedway.
In so doing, Grosso will be returning to the track his family built 25 years ago and where his son Brandon won the 2022 Modified track championship.
Grosso intends to open in early April, race every week, bring the speedway back to its original pristine condition, and make subtle configuration changes.
That’s for starters. He’s getting rid of sail panels, running some high paying mid-week Modified shows and, more importantly, intends to do what it takes to attract top drivers to his speedway.
Grosso’s vision is to return New Egypt to its former glory with contemporary solutions.
It’s not an easy task, but one Grosso is taking on with eyes wide open and responsible expectations.
