Newsmaker of the Week // Ron Silk

To say that Ronnie Silk was long overdue for a NASCAR Whelen Modified Touring Series victory is to say it right. On Saturday night at New Smyrna Speedway in Florida, Silk seized the moment late in the race to establish himself as the leader, then hold on with determination when Justin Bonsignore threatened to upset his victory bid. At one point, the pair swapped the lead back and forth in a single lap, setting up a fight to the finish in the 200-lap race. As a past NASCAR Whelen Modified Touring Series champion, Ronnie Silk has proven he can win. Now firmly positioned in the seat of the Haydt-Yannone No. 16, Silk showed conclusively that his winning ways are back.

For getting his career back on track, Ronnie Silk is, once again, a Newsmaker!
