Newsmaker of the Week // Jack Ely, Jr.

Jack Ely, Jr. has been racing Asphalt Modifieds for several years. He started in Pennsylvania because he was too young to race Mods in New Jersey. He came to follow the Race Of Champions Modified Touring Series for most of his career and while always competitive, an RoC win had eluded him.
Until Saturday.

Driving the race of his life, Ely moved into contention in the Mahoning Valley RoC 2023 season opener, made all the right moves, and raced home for the win. The soft-spoken third-generation racer was pleased beyond words, savoring the glory of victory at long last.

His was a popular win, not soon to be forgotten as, for perhaps the first time in his racing career, Jack Ely, Jr. was a Newsmaker!
