Newsmaker of the Week // Emerson Axsom

The USAC Sprint cars and stars were in the northeast last week, running five of six scheduled races. Emerson Axsom, Justin Grant, and Kyle Cummins won the races with Axsom, the only repeat winner, earning the 2023 USAC Eastern Storm Series championship.

Axsom demonstrated remarkable consistency over the run of the series, backing up his two wins with two seconds and a third. The race that got his title juices flowing was the Thursday night Big Diamond race which he won. Axsom had never seen Big Diamond before but ran the race like a track regular.

Young, talented, soft spoken, Emerson Axsom demonstrated to his rivals and to eastern fans, in a highly charged racing environment, that he is the real deal – and a Newsmaker!
