Hudson O’Neal soared Saturday night at Port Royal Speedway to win the Rumble At The River Lucas Oil Dirt Late Model Series race and $50,000. To win it, O’Neal had to recover from a bad start in which he lost a couple of spots. Then he had to run down Jonathan Davenport and Brandon Overton. As if that were not enough, Mike Marlar was on a late race charge too, not to mention Ricky Thornton, Jr., who had come from dead last to second, only to break at the most inopportune time.

O’Neal had the speed when he needed it and took the checkered flag to win an instant classic of a Super Late Model feature.

At least half a dozen drivers had the chance to win this race, but only did, Hudson O’ Neal. And by so doing, Hudson O’Neal made News!
