From adversity, victory!

Just six months removed from suffering serious arm injuries in a Sprint Car crash at Knoxville Raceway, Davie Franek was ready to go racing again. His objective was Central Florida, where a series of 360 and 410 Sprint races over a three week period are a test for any racer and race team. Franek first ran three 360 Sprint events at Volusia Speedway Park, finishing seventh the first time out, but crashing on the third night.

Then he headed for Hendry County Speedway, where, on Friday night, Franek, in just his fourth time back in a Sprint Car, won the feature! Awash in victory, whatever aches he may have felt were insignificant.

For his courageous comeback and making good in just his fourth start since his crash, Davie Franek is a Newsmaker!
