Auto racing, indoors and outside, attracted the attention of the racing world this past weekend.
Inside Trenton, NJ’s CURE Insurance Arena, 83 Micro Sprint teams battled for 24 starting spots in two nights of racing on a manmade dirt track that was in perfect shape. Billy Pauch, Jr., and Anthony Perrego, a pair of Dirt Modified aces, won the A-Mains with Perrego winning the finale in front the largest crowd in East Coast Dirt Nationals history.
The next afternoon, the outdoor season was officially ushered in in the northeast at Lincoln Speedway with Troy Wagaman winning the 410 Sprint main event in front of a large, if chilled crowd.
Though venues could not have been more different, the take-away was the same: Racing is alive and well in 2024, and that’s a Newsmaking sentiment!
