Newsmaker of the Week // Jake Johnson

The hotbed of Asphalt Modified racing that is New England was rejoicing this past weekend when 21-year old Jake Johnson roared to victory in the NASCAR Whelen Modified Touring Series race at Monadnock Speedway – behind the wheel of the iconic Boehler Racing Enterprises ‘Ole Blue’ No. 3. The win was Johnson’s first on the Tour. It was Ole Blue’s first win on the Tour in seven years.

Ever since Johnson began driving the Boehler team entry, the car has been fast. Johnson has now become the latest of a long list of drivers who have taken the BRE No. 3 to the winners circle, dating back to the days of Bug Stevens and Fred DeSarro.

With the team fully committed to running all of the NASCAR Mod Tour races this year, more wins could be coming. This win is the one, though that will be forever remembered as a Newsmaker!
