Newsmaker of the Week // Danny Dietrich

Larger than life 410 Sprint driver Danny Dietrich lit up Port Royal Speedway Trackside Media Sunday when he won the $75,000 Bob Weikert Memorial High Limit Sprint Series race, outrunning a fast closing Tyler Courtney to keep the top money. The first place payout was the most ever earned at Port Royal by any driver.

Always a crowd favorite, occasionally controversial, Double D was, on this night, unbeatable and after the race, one happy victor. The win was a continuation of a run of success that started Friday at Williams Grove Speedway when Dietrich won the John Trone Tribute Race, which paid $10,000.

It isn’t often that $85,000 is on the line for a Sprint Car racing weekend in Central Pennsylvania and even more rare that one driver sweeps the big money. Winning big money with finesse and style are attributes of a great racer. Danny Dietrich is just that, and a Newsmaker!
