The first three races of the 2024 Appalachian Mountain Late Model Series are in the books. The man who emerged as driver to beat is Gregg Satterlee. After Tyler Emory won the first Series race, Satterlee then doubled at Port Royal Saturday and Hagerstown Sunday.

Then, in an unusual twist, Satterlee was swept up in a tire issue, one that called into question what he had been using. That controversy was resolved when a manufacturer compounding disparity was discovered, clearing Satterlee. Regarded for a decade as one the most skilled regional Super Late Model team driver and owner, Satterlee is now an odds on favorite to win the lucrative AMLMS title next week.
