Opportunities for asphalt Modified drivers to win more than a single major event in a weekend are exceedingly rare. That’s why Justin Bonsignore’s weekend sweep at North Wilkesboro Speedway of the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour and the SMART Modified Tour races back to back has the racing community saying, “Wow.”

There was added significance on the NWMT side in that Bonsignore shored up what had been an eroding season championship lead. If that weren’t enough, JB’s NWMT win was his 44th of all time, tying Series legend Reggie Ruggiero for second on the all-time win list. ‘The Reg’ even called Bonsignore in the Winners’ Circle to offer him plaudits.
