Newsmaker of the Week // Timmy Solomito

Timmy Solomito was in the right place at the right time last Saturday afternoon at Wall Stadium Speedway. Biding his time, sidestepping miscues and mistakes that snagged many of his rivals, Solomito took the lead at the last possible moment and went on to win the 51st running of the Turkey Derby Modified 150.

Solomito had won the Wall Mod 100 support race the year before and was close to taking the Modified 150 in 2023 before getting crashed. This time, the Long Islander drove a perfect race, avoided chaos, and cruised to a popular verdict.

Solomito doesn’t race as often as he used to, which made this $15,000 victory all the more sweet – and made him a Newsmaker!!
