The Daytona 500 is a race of prestige and that prestige was enhanced to the greatest degree possible when Donald Trump, the President of the United States, came to watch ‘The Great American Race’ Sunday.
This was no photo op appearance.The President met with drivers before the race, was driven around Daytona International Speedway in the presidential limousine, addressed the crowd briefly, and watched some of the race from the Daytona Club right behind the pit area.
President Trump’s visit to the Daytona 500 was a huge boost to the sport of auto racing in general and NASCAR in particular – capping off a successful Speedweek with a dramatic newsmaking event!
