For the third straight year, Anthony Macri raced his way to the top of one of 410 Sprint Car racing’s most difficult and most prestigious tests, the PA Sprint Speedweek championship. To win it, a driver and a team have to be capable running well over a grueling two week schedule at seven different speedways, three that race 410 Sprints weekly and four that don’t. The format is such that having just one bad night can torpedo the whole pursuit.
In this pressure cooker environment, Macri won just once, but held off rival Danny Dietrich, who won twice, to take the title.
Winning 410 Sprint races in Central Pennsylvania is tough. Outrunning 40 plus top teams over seven races (three were rained out) is physically exhausting and mentally draining. Anthony Macri and his Macri Motorsports No. 39M were the best of the best for the third year in a row, an achievement of a Newsmaker!
