Newsmaker of the Week // Ryan Timms

Central Pennsylvania’s 410 Sprint Car fans could have been excused for regarding Ryan Timms as a one trick pony prior to last Saturday’s Tuscarora 50 at Port Royal Speedway. Sure the 19 year old had scored an upset win in the Knoxville Nationals last month, but this was Central Pennsylvania, the PA Posse’s home turf. His Port Royal experience was limited and his results average at best. In the two Tuscarora prelim nights, Timms ran decently but no one regarded him as a Tusky 50 contender.

Well, much as he had done at Knoxville a month earlier, Ryan Timms got going with the big money on the line, and swept to win one of the biggest races east of Knoxville. He’ll never sneak under the radar again, that’s for certain.

For backing up his Knoxville Nationals win with the storied Tuscarora 50 victory, Ryan Timms has shocked a region of Sprint Car loyalists, in so doing is a Newsmaker!
