Newsmaker of the Week // Cameron Smith

The struggle for the 2025 Lincoln Speedway 410 Sprint Car track championship was on the minds of many last Saturday as Freddie Rahmer and Troy Wagaman, Jr. raced hard for the crown. Rahmer won, by just five points.

But on this night, Cameron Smith stole the show. After a fourth place run in the first 410 feature, Smith was poised to strike in the $15,000-to-win 50-lap finale.

The 21-year old Smith did most of his passing and lapped traffic navigation by exploiting his car’s ability to work well off the high side of the fourth turn where most others couldn’t. Emotionally low key most of the time, Smith admitted he was proud of his performance in this race. He never once lost a spot he gained in the Final Fifty. This is Smith’s second full season with Rick Lefever’s No. 75 410 team and neither Smith nor Lefever wanted to see the 2025 Lincoln 410 Sprint season end.

For winning the biggest race of his career, and outrunning Lincoln Speedway’s best to do so, Cameron Smith is a Newsmaker!
