The auto racing community is grieving over the passing of Albany-Saratoga Promoter Lyle DeVore, who passed away December 11 at the age of 54.
As promoter of Albany-Saratoga Speedway, he made ‘The Great Race Place’ his passion, elevating the track to new heights. He was equally adept working on his track as he was meeting with potential track sponsors.
What makes Lyle’s passing so wrenching is that he battled cancer for four years. The disease took a toll on his strength at times but never affected his spirit.
Throughout his illness, his family supported and comforted him, and that enabled him to carry on. His impact on the sport was profound, he will be forever remembered.
May he rest in peace and may his family be comforted knowing how much he will be missed by all.
