Newsmaker of the Week // NJ, NY, PA Speedways Secure for 2026

Three race tracks in three different states that had faced uncertain times at the end of 2025 year’s are, thankfully, back on steady ground heading into 2026.

In New York, Albany-Saratoga Speedway promoter Lyle DeVore’s December passing has led to new leadership there with Lyle’s wife Marcy, daughter Lia, and family friend Paul Scully gathering together to operate the track in Lyle’s memory this year. In Pennsylvania, Mahoning Valley Speedway owner Jack Carlino has leased his track to new promoter Bill Osborne, thus keeping a race track open that might otherwise have been sold for land development. And in New Jersey, Wall Stadium’s property owners have leased their race track to two racing enthusiasts, Fred Archer and Peter Maletto, turning aside rumors of possible property sale for redevelopment.

At a time when more race tracks seem to be in peril than ever before, these three speedways are safe and secure for 2026 – and that’s a welcome – and Newsmaking development!
