Newsmaker of the Week // Emerson Axsom

The atmosphere was electric as the laps drew down to a precious few Saturday night in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The Chili Bowl was progressing and 21 year old Emerson Axsom was in control after having passed Kyle Larson early in the 55-lap feature, then pulled away.

A determined Justin Grant picked up the chase only to crash, which gave Kevin Thomas, Jr. one last shot at grabbing the top prize. Axsom was not to be denied and Midget racing’s biggest prize of all was his.

For driving a flawless race when others didn’t, Emerson Axsom made his dream come true, the dream of winning the Chili Bowl.
