PA’s Mahoning Valley Speedway faced a lot of uncertainty last year when owner Jack Carlino said he would not promote the speedway in 2026. That was when Bill Osborn stepped up to keep racing alive, and after months of improvements, the gates swung open for the first-time last Saturday to welcome the Race of Champions Modified Series.

In front of a packed crowd, it was Matt Hirschman who took down the win. Afterward, he described it was one of the more important ones he’s gotten at the ¼-mile facility following an uncharacteristic start to the season by his standards.
