Newsmaker of the Week // Jimmy “Showtime” Blewett

A bout with diverticulitis cost Jimmy Blewett his 2025 season and nearly his life. However, he recovered from a major surgery and jumped back into the cockpit of an asphalt Modified at NJ’s Wall Stadium this season.

The long-awaited return wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows though as Blewett struggled with cars that weren’t quite right. However, his determination to win never wavered, and in last Saturday’s Hall of Fame 100, fans finally got to see “Showtime” parked on the front stretch in victory lane.

For enduring a life-threatening experience and returning to the winner’s circle nearly two years later, Jimmy Blewett is a newsmaker!
