When you hear the term “The Double” in the context of racing, you think of drivers who have attempted the Indianapolis 500 and Coca-Cola 600 on the same day.

But last Saturday, Kyle Larson pulled off one of the most improbable doubles imaginable. After finishing sixth in the NASCAR Cup Series race at VA’s Richmond Raceway, Larson, with the support of his Hendrick Motorsports team, hopped on a plane to Iowa to make in time for the rain-delayed Knoxville Nationals feature.

His arrival was highly anticipated as nearly 17,000 people were tracking the flight. Larson touched down with plenty of time to spare, started on the pole of the 50-lap feature and led flag to flag for his fourth Nationals triumph and a $200,000 check.

For accomplishing a feat that we may never see again, Kyle Larson is a Newsmaker!
