Newsmaker of the Week // Ryan Preece

Former NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour champion Ryan Preece poured blood, sweat, tears and even his own money into making it to the sport’s top level.

All of that hard work finally paid off this past Saturday night at Daytona International Speedway. At a track that has taken so much from him in the way of wild flips in 2023 and 2025, Preece marched back to the front from an early spin in Stage 1 and found himself at the head of the pack when the caution flew on the last lap for his first checkered flag in his 249th start.

With the victory, Preece also punched his ticket to the 10-race Chase for the championship for after coming into the event more than 30 points below the cutline.

From honing his skills in Modifieds in his native Connecticut to now delivering in the clutch at the “World Center Of Racing,” Ryan Preece is a Newsmaker!
