Newsmaker of the Week // The “Gobbler”

AREA AUTO RACING NEWS NEWSMAKER OF THE WEEK FOR DECEMBER 8, 2015

 The notion of racing in the foothills of the Catskill Mountains of New York in late November seems preposterous. And the idea of running the first week in December after an unfortunate rainout is, well, a little crazy.

 So much for conventional wisdom!

 Last Saturday, Accord Speedway and ‘Gobbler’ event promoter Brett Deyo packed the house for the final race of the outdoor season in the northeast. Sure, the weather deities smiled upon the proceedings, but this was a race to remember, when Tyler Siri and Danny Johnson tangled late in the race while fighting for the lead.

 Collectively, the Gobbler turned out to be a  huge momentum builder for Johnson, Deyo, Accord Speedway and the hale and hearty fans who watched it.

 And on a weekend with litte racing going on anywhere, the ‘Gobbler’ made the biggest news!
