AREA AUTO RACING NEWS NEWSMAKER FOR THE WEEK OF TUESDAY, JANUARY 12, 2016

The newsmakers this week are many.

 There’s Total Wrecking and Environmental of Tonawanda, N.Y., the company that blew up the Syracuse grandstand.

 There’s Joanie Mahoney. the Onondaga County, New York Executve who smiled and giggled as a publicly funded structure imploded into a cloud of dust.

 There’s Andrew Cuomo, the Governor of New York, the enabler of Mahoney’s grand scheme to spend millions rebuilding what was destroyed.

 There’s World Racing Group, which gave Super DIRT Week a great send-off in October and now looks at an empty field across Onondaga Lake as the salvaton of its biggest money maker of all.

 There’s Glenn Donnelly, architect of Central New York Speedway Park, the heir apparent to the Super DIRT Week he founded.

 And there’s ‘Plan B’, the recently confirmed ‘Oswego Option’ that could move Super DIRT Week to a clayed Oswego Speedway if CNYSP misses construction targets.

 Newsmakers, one and all.  And, one imagines, newsmakers for the weeks, months, even years to follow.
