Newsmaker of the Week // Weikert Family

A big part of the 2024 PPB Motorsports Racecar & Trade Show was the gracious weekend tribute to the late Bob Weikert, whose life and times were celebrated by his two sons Ike and Todd and by many of the Sprint Car drivers who won races in the Weikert No. 29 Sprint Cars.

The Weikert family continued to make news when it was announced Saturday at the Show that the annual Bob Weikert Memorial Race at Port Royal Speedway, planned this year on Sunday, May 26 would pay $75,000 to win! That’s huge, and very much in keeping with the larger-than life persona of Bob Weikert, who, through the next generation, is once again a Newsmaker!
