The return to the Winners Circle of the powder blue No. 69K 410 Sprint Car this past weekend was a welcome sight. First, Daryn Pittman raced the car to the front at Williams Grove Speedway Friday night, and kept it there. The next night, Logan Wagner drove a twin Kreitz car to the win at Port Royal Speedway.
The common denominator in both wins was the remarkable Kreitz team crew chief Davey Brown, who had celebrated his 90th birthday days earlier. The twin wins for Brown, a Sprint Car Hall Of Famer, magnified an incredible achievement: Davey Brown as a crew chief and motor builder had now earned wins for 71 consecutive years! It’s a record of longevity that likely will never even be approached much less matched or eclipsed.
Davey Brown has been and continues to be, without question, a long term, behind-the-scenes Newsmaker!
